There are three scales that stand out as the most popular: 1/500, 1/400, and 1/200. Sometimes, you might see them referred to as 1:500, 1:400, and 1:200 – it’s essentially the same thing. For those new to collecting or researching for a gift, these numbers indicate five hundred, four hundred, or two hundred times smaller than the real aircraft. That’s why a Boeing 777 and an Airbus A320 will differ in size, even if they’re both in the same scale.

To recap: 1/200 is the largest, while 1/500 would be the smallest.
